Description

Degerminator 1500

The DG1500 Robinson type de-germinator has been designed to be used as a de-germinator for maize and to process conditioned maize into samp, maize chips, germ meal and bran. The machine is unique in that it incorporates a turbosifter separator running off a common drive. There are 8 de-germlng anvil plates of cast iron and with estimated 3- 5,000 ton processing life prior to replacement. All plates are easy to adjust from the outside of the machine by simply lowering the hinged side doors and adjusting the plates for a more or less aggressive action. The outlet door is adjustably spring loaded to allow for longer or shorter retention of maize in the machine.
This would depend on the hardness of the maize kernel as well as the extent of processing required. Optionally supplied are two leg aspirators with a 3 kW extraction fan, cyclone, ducting and filter bags where the samp and bran from the de-germinator is separated in one aspiration leg while the chips and bran is separated in another aspiration leg. The germ meal and fine bran is screened out with the turbo sifter included as part of the machine.
Capacity is up to 1500kg/hr based on well conditioned, hard white maize.
Estimated yields are
60-62% samp
15-17% chips
22-25% hominy chop

Degerminator 3000

Models:
The DG3000 Beall-type Degerminator is an effective robust maize degerminator with a capacity of up to 3,000kg/hr – which makes it an ideal degerminator in medium to large scale maize mills.
The construction is based on a sliding cone section – that can be moved in our our of the outer shell of the degerminator – to adjust degermination rate, capacities and yields.
The Cone:
The simplified design and construction of the DG3000 Degerminator cone greatly reduces repair costs and downtime. The patterned knobs are chilled iron which resist abrasion, providing high lifespan,? reduced maintenance costs. With the versatile five section main rotor, which has a maximum rotor speed of 900 rpm, there is no need to replace the entire cone when wear occurs. Any section of the cone
may be quickly replaced, while the other sections can be left in place,

Optionally 2 x Large aspiration legs are fitted to the degerminator, coupled with an 11KW blower and cyclone – for aspirating and collecting bran and germ meal from the degerminator.
Perforated Plates:
During the degermination process, the detached germ and bran are discharged through two perforated plates on each side of the casing. Two 6mm perforated plates are fumished as standard equipment while 5mm? or 7mm plates are optional. A maximum of 4 perforated plates can be used per machine.
Power consumption
The most common motor fitted is a 55KW 4pole motor on the belt drive motor, or a 55KW 6pole motor on the direct drive models – to get to a capacity of up to 3000kg/hr. Optionally the DG3000 can be fitted with a 37KW motor, but this will influence capacity.
Capacity is up to 3000kg/hr based on well conditioned, hard white maize.
Typical yields are:
60-62% samp
15-17% chips
22-25% hominy chop
