ABC HANSEN AUGERS

A screw conveyor or auger conveyor is a mechanism that uses a rotating helical screw blade, called a flightin, within a tube, to move granular materials. They are used in many bulk handling industries.

Screw conveyors in modern industry are often used horizontally or at an incline of up to 90 degrees as an efficient way to move materials, including food waste, wood chips, aggregates, cereal grains, animal feed, boiler ash, meat and bone meal, flour, meal and many others.

WHAT MAKES THIS DESIGN UNIQUE?

WHAT CAN A ABC HANSEN AUGER DO?

Trough Auger

Trough augers are usually used when conveying material over longer distances, on a horizontal level.

Available in various diameters & lenghts

Normal Auger

Normal augers are more applicable for shorter distances with inclines up to 90 degree inclines.

What to consider when buying an auger?

1. Measure the grain bins you will be filling with the auger and / or the diameter of your silo.

2. The diameter of the auger you choose will determine the amount of grain you can move per hour

3. The length and diameter of your auger will determine the amount of power needed to run it.

The first type of screw conveyor was the Archimedian screw, used since ancient times to pump irrigation water.
